After years and years of the land being passed to and from Lincoln family and non-family members, Dan Arnold decided he needed to do something to preserve the land. In 2007 he purchased four acres of the farm and formed Friends of the Abraham Lincoln Historical Farm.

The Lincoln Family Farm is located immediately adjacent to the eastern border of today’s Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site in Lerna, IL.
