Abraham Lincoln was one of the most influential members of society. His words, character, and overall belief in America have left an eternal impact on the United States. For the people that never had the chance to experience his spirit firsthand, there are many Abraham Lincoln collectibles on the market. These include everything from coins, plates, pictures, and more. But for the Lincoln fans that really want to have an authentic piece of Abraham Lincoln, there is something else. Friends of the Abraham Lincoln Historical Farm offers the chance for loyal Lincoln fans to own a piece of his family farm.

Abe's Farm Today

In 1840, Abraham Lincoln’s father, Thomas Lincoln, bought the Lincoln Family Farm. In 1841, Abraham bought 40 acres of that farm to help his family financially, and owned it until the day he died. After years and years of the land being passed to and from Lincoln family and non-family members, Dan Arnold decided he needed to do something to preserve the land. In 2007 he purchased four acres of the farm and formed Friends of the Abraham Lincoln Historical Farm.

Friends of the Abraham Lincoln Historical Farm gives you a chance to call a piece of the farm your own. This is unlike any other Abraham Lincoln collectible up for sale. This opportunity is open to everyone, so the chance to buy isn’t going to last forever. Once the land is purchased by fellow Lincoln fans, their piece of the historical farm will belong to them, so it’s important to act quickly and purchase your piece of historic land now. How big of a piece you ask? It’s a piece equivalent to the size of a penny, in honor of the coin that bears his image.

The Lincoln Family Farm is located immediately adjacent to the eastern border of today’s Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site in Lerna, IL. Once you buy the land, it’s yours and you may visit it whenever you like. When visiting your newly acquired piece of history, you’ll find the land in the same state it’s been in since 1841 when Abraham Lincoln purchased it from his father. It’s an open field with high grass and a tree line on the western border.

It’s the belief of Friends of the Abraham Lincoln Historical Farm that this historic property should not belong to any one person, state, or nation, but to all people everywhere who along with Abraham Lincoln love liberty unselfishly for all mankind. Friends of the Abraham Lincoln Historical Farm believes in Abraham Lincoln’s message of honesty and integrity. He was one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history and his work alone has made America a better place.
